The ABMI is a Leader in Biodiversity Monitoring

We are the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute (ABMI). We track changes in Alberta's wildlife and their habitats from border to border, and provide ongoing, relevant, scientifically credible information on Alberta's living resources. For our province's land use decision-makers. For Alberta's future land stewards. For Albertans.

About the Biodiversity Browser

The Biodiversity Browser is Alberta’s encyclopedia of life. Through this portal, we provide information on monitored species. Users can easily search for individual species of interest and see where they’ve been detected in the province, habitat association, impacts of human footprint, and maps of habitat suitability. New results and analyses are added as they become available, providing an up-to-date information source for species in Alberta.

Statistical Analysis

Review a summary of the methods which describe how statistical modelling is used to relate the relative abundance of each species to habitat, human footprint, and geographic location across Alberta, with links to more detailed references.

Collaborators

The ABMI would like to acknowledge the variety of institutions, organizations, and individuals that contributed to the results presented in the Biodversity Browser.
